Sarasota National is a gated golf community in Venice, Florida, within the Wellen Park area, built out by Lennar after WCI Communities started it. At 2,400 acres with 1,584 homes wrapped around an 18 hole championship course, it is one of the most complete club communities in the area.
Neighborhood overview
The course was designed by Gordon Lewis and the land around it is an Audubon International certified sanctuary, with more than 1,300 acres kept as preserves and open space. The amenity campus centers on a 32,000 square foot clubhouse with dining, a resort style pool with lap lanes and a beach entry, a spa, fitness, tennis, pickleball, bocce, a playground, and a dog park. Homes range from condominiums and villas up to single family and estate homes, roughly 1,375 to over 3,100 square feet, and the community is all ages.
Buying in Sarasota National
The builder finished here years ago, so this is a resale market, and the homework that matters is the fee structure. Golf membership, club dues, and what is bundled with a given home vary by section, and the total monthly picture can look very different from the list price.
