The Preserve is a gated D.R. Horton neighborhood of paired villas and single family homes inside Wellen Park in Venice, Florida, built between 2017 and 2021. It carries the original West Villages naming from before the community became Wellen Park.
Neighborhood overview
Homes run roughly 1,500 to 2,600 square feet and the neighborhood is centered on two lakes, so a lot of homes have water or preserve views. Residents have a private clubhouse, a resort style pool, a fitness center, pickleball and bocce courts, and an open air cabana. Because it is fully built out, the streets are finished and the landscaping is mature, and Downtown Wellen, the trails, and CoolToday Park are all close.
Buying in The Preserve
Everything here is resale, and because the homes were built within a few years of each other, condition is usually consistent and the comparison shopping is straightforward. The real questions are the view, the lot, and how the monthly costs compare to a newer neighborhood.
