What is the Five Star Real Estate Agent award?

It's a program run by Five Star Professional, which researches service professionals in more than 45 markets across the U.S. and Canada. Agents are selected based on consumer evaluations and production and business information. Winners do not pay a fee to be included in the research or on the final list.

How do you win it?

You can't apply. Self-nominations are not accepted, and the candidates come from evaluations completed by consumers. Recent homebuyers rate the agents they worked with on ten criteria, covering things like integrity, market knowledge, communication, negotiation, closing preparation, and post-sale service. Industry peers are also surveyed. To be named, an agent must hold a current license and be in good standing, and must pass a favorable regulatory and complaint-history review.

How rare is it in the Sarasota market?

Of the 15,272 agents considered in my market, 266 were projected winners. That's about 1.7%. I'd rather give you the real number than round it up.

What does the award not tell you?

It doesn't guarantee your experience, and it doesn't rank agents against each other. It's one signal. Read the reviews and check the results. My five-star Google reviews are linked on this site, and they say more about how I work than an award does.

What does the August ranking mean?

In August I was number 21 among top producers in my Coldwell Banker Realty region. That measures production, meaning how much business I closed. The Five Star award measures what clients and peers say about the service. Both matter, and neither replaces the other.

What does this look like in Wellen Park?

Recently I helped a couple from near Indianapolis buy a second home in Wellen Park Golf and Country Club, and a couple from Michigan buy their new seasonal property in Brightmore.
